This resort was conceptualized by our founder, the great James R. North. Al the way back in 1995 he came up with the idea of what we know today as Up North Lodge and Resort, after about 6 years of trial and error with getting the money, resources, and people necessary to make his vision a reality, he opened his resort up in August 2001. Since then, the resort has operated under family ownership of the North family and has been a tourist trap for many people that pass through our little joint. We have had about 70 million total visitors stay with us as of January 2024 and are always open to anyone looking to stay with us.
